When camping in remote areas, water may appear crystal clear and unpolluted, yet it can still harbor active bacteria that may cause illness if not properly treated.
So how do we disinfect our water?
All unfiltered water will have small amounts of bacteria, especially when pulling from natural sources such as lakes or rivers. Campers use something called "Iodine Tablets" that dissolve in the water and kill all bacteria and ecoli.
